The town

Kilkenny is located in the South East of Ireland, 125 km from Dublin and 160 km from Cork. Its known as the Marble City, as the majority of buildings in the area are built with this local stone. Without doubt it is one of the most beautiful cities in the country; it also has a lot of history and culture. One of the most attractive features in the centre of Kilkenny is the XII century castle which has a well conserved example of the round tower, St. Canice’s Cathedral which dates back to the XIII century and the second biggest cathedral in Ireland. Kilkenny is today a lively and colourful city that is considered the cultural and artistic capital of the country.

The school

On this course the English classes take place on the grounds of St. Kieran’s College, one of the oldest schools in Ireland. It is a stunning stone building, surrounded by gardens in the centre of the city.

The accommodation

Students are treated as another member of the family. Sharing accommodation with the families forces the students to communicate and improve their English and their conversation practice. In Student Travel Camps the same family accommodates up to two students of different nationalities and they are responsible for ensuring that they speak English throughout.
