Kilkenny is located in the South East of Ireland, 125 km from Dublin and 160 km from Cork. Its known as the Marble City, as the majority of buildings in the area are built with this local stone. Without doubt it is one of the most beautiful cities in the country; it also has a lot of history and culture. One of the most attractive features in the centre of Kilkenny is the XII century castle which has a well conserved example of the round tower, St. Canice’s Cathedral which dates back to the XIII century and the second biggest cathedral in Ireland. Kilkenny is today a lively and colourful city that is considered the cultural and artistic capital of the country.
On this course the English classes take place on the grounds of St. Kieran’s College, one of the oldest schools in Ireland. It is a stunning stone building, surrounded by gardens in the centre of the city.
Students are treated as another member of the family. Sharing accommodation with the families forces the students to communicate and improve their English and their conversation practice. In Student Travel Camps the same family accommodates up to two students of different nationalities and they are responsible for ensuring that they speak English throughout.

St Canice’s Cathedral & Round Tower
Founded in the 6th century, St Canice’s cathedral is an important part of Kilkenny’s medieval history. Accompanied by an early Christian round tower, it makes it quite a fascinating place to visit with it’s stunning surrounding landscapes.
The watershed is a facility that is built for swimming, running and training for athletes. This is a great centre with all the facilities needed for a group to go swimming.
This is a reptile zoo that has some of the world reptiles and amphibians on show. With over 50 exhibitions, it is a unique experience for visitors to see the most exotic of animals that they will never see in Ireland. It has a walk-through habitat along with picnic areas which is perfect for group trips.
Castlecomer discovery Park
Castlecomer is a 80 acre woodland that has a big range of exciting activities and walkways for visitors to explore. This picturesque location is ideal to bring groups looking for a bit of excitement while enjoying the fresh air of the forest. It offers activities such as zip-lining, high ropes, orienteering, rope climbing, boating along with many other activities.
This is a 12th century castle from the Victorian time that has been well kept and renovated over the year. It is a rather large castle that is fascinating to tour around and see the grand halls and stunning architecture.
