It has more than 2000 years of history and is surrounded by a splendid circle of walls that date back to Roman and medieval times that are 3.2 km in diameter, from which you can get an impressive view of the city. The city boasts a cathedral from XIV century, the city centre and the touristic area is found inside the walls, with boutiques in The Rows which date back to the Medieval Age. Chester has an important Shopping Centre which ranges from boutiques to Antique shops and boasts one of the best atmospheres in the country. The English classes take place in Chester University; it’s one of the oldest higher education establishments, founded in XIX century by a group of important figureheads of the Church of England. The university is found in the centre of the city and complements the modern and historic buildings combining to create an attractive campus. The classrooms are well equipped, with a computer room, a library; the exterior spaces include a indoor swimming pool, football pitch, squash and tennis courts and indoor sports centre ideal for inclement weather. Also there are beautiful well kept gardens surrounding the campus.
